The 7th district includes the Eiffel Tower, the most visited monument in Paris. It symbolizes the city and since 2000, it is lit at night with special light effects. The Eiffel Tower is located in the West of the 7th arrondissement of Paris at the northern end of the Champ de Mars. At the other end is the Ecole Militaire and the Invalides where Napoleon was buried. This district includes many monuments and sites worth visiting: the Eiffel Tower, the Palais du Trocadéro (Chaillot), the beautiful Esplanade des Invalides, the Pont Alexandre III,a beautiful XIXth century bridge next to the Grand and Petit Palais and their famous exhibitions, the Musée Rodin, the National Assembly along the River Seine, many Ministries around the rue de Grenelle. The Musée d'Orsay, a former railway station, has a beautifu architecture and is specialized in XIXth century paintings and sculptures. The 7th arrondissement is not the oldest part of Paris but it is undoubtedly the most prestigious, it is very quiet and expensive with beautiful buildings and apartments.
